A gig held at Cafe Kino on Friday 6th February. The event starts at 20:00.

The Grey Area presents:

Awkward Corners
----------------
Awkward Corners is the solo music project from DJ, percussionist and writer Chris Menist (Paradise Bangkok, NTS) that began life over a decade ago in Islamabad, where Chris was living at the time.

Recordings were made with local musicians in Pakistan and then subsequently in Thailand. This culminated in 'The Sweet Decay' that came out on Finders Keepers’ Disposable Music in 2014, and led to a limited tape release on Boomkat/Reel Torque.

Two albums followed : 'Dislocation Songs', and 'Amateur Dramatics' both released on Shapes of Rhythm, that featured collaborations with Sarathy Korwar on tabla, and Tamar Osborn on horns, as well as a series of remixes for the likes of Emanative, Sneaky Jesus and Insolito Universo.

‘The Book Of Imaginary Beings’ came out last year as a long sold out cassette only release, marked by a launch party at Idle Moments in Shoreditch, and subsequent live performances at the acclaimed Wonderfruit festival in Thailand.

Ostara Tarn
----------------
Ostara Tarn is an audio project by Alastair Tanner, previously playing as Silhouette Sect and DJing as Al Kalinity. Ostara Tarn convokes deep drones, field recordings, drums from the Jovian depths and scraps of melody thawed from the boreal permafrost as vehicles of reverberation.

Sound sources range from personal to archival fields, modern electronics, clichéd analogs, and deconstructed pop culture references. The listener is taken on a sonic stroll where being, memory, place and perception are nudged into a clement chaos before reassembly.

This will be a seated show, with seats given on a first come first served basis on the night.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
