"Essential lo-fi basement bricolage ft. prolific experimental tape-slinger Ravetank, bringing Olivia Tremor Control/GBV-style power-pop doused with fuzz and distortion. Plus there’s sweet sample-addled avant-folk from Stephen Lane, melodic post-rock minimalism from Motes and Thinking With Sand’s heady shoegaze tsunami. Top choice FFO: Elephant 6, Beat Happening, Tortoise, Steve Gunn, early King Creosote."

SHARP NOODLE PRESENTS 50th SHOW!!!
RAVETANK
My favourite discovery of the year. So nice I booked them thrice! Baths's esoteric noise poppers blend Daniel Johnson with Shonen Knife with a dash of Merzbow and Teenage Filmstars. Now expanded to a trio, just having supported Weatherday at Rough Trade, their live sound is now closer to this particularly excellent release - https://ravetank.bandcamp.com/album/echoes-from-feedback-mountain
STEPHEN LANE
Another returning favourite. Shamblingly beautiful no fi electro acoustic pop from Chippenham via Norwich's Stephen Lane. Purveyor of a deep discography as Vase, Stephen now uses his human name to perform but retains much the same idiosyncratic approach. New album 'Dare to Dream', out now on Hand Idiom Records, is particularly lovely -
