Bristol Edition at Cafe Kino
Concessionary, Standard and Pay-It-Forward available.

A gig held at Cafe Kino on Sunday 14th July. The event starts at 18:30.

Hot Flush started as a collaboration between Zora McDonald (Dryadic, Queer Voices Gloucestershire) and performance poet Emma Clowsley (Spit The Ink, Ledbury Poetry Festival). The peri-menopausal pair hosted their first sell out Hot Flush Night in Stroud as a double headliner, inviting other local queer women and minority gender performers to join them. They didn't want to stop it was so good!

This is the third Hot Flush Edition, the second sold out in Brighton with the gorgeous Paul Diello and his acoustic band, Under The Ivy guesting. The Bristol edition teams up with political, published and intersectional queer poet, Leilah King and opens up the first part of the night to any audience members who wish to take the stand with us.

We are hoping this will be the third sell out Hot Flush with more already in the rainbow pipeline. Join us :)

Leilah King (Time of the Month) is a half-Iranian queer footballer, mental health advocate, and stand-up poet. Her debut poetry collection Midnight Picnics in Tehran was published by Burning Eye Books and her new book We are Hungry For Androgyny is recently out with Polari Press"

Dryadic's rhythmical mix-up underpins heartfelt lyrics, heart-soaring hooks and intoxicating vocals creating an inimitable balance of trad, new, romantic, feel-good and rousing songs. The prolific singer-songwriter masterfully commands the audience with songs played on guitar, fiddle, piano and double bass. Watch out for their knack for slipping an unequivocally anthemic ballad on the keys into the mix. Dryadic has shared stages with Heather Peace, Grace Petrie and Nadine Benjamin OBE at Glastonbury, Pride, Boomtown, Hammersmith Apollo and many more.
