Ellen Southern: vocal, sound and visual artist
Ellen uses voice as both a compositional tool, and as a direct sound-based method of interacting with site. Her Site Singing work is based on the idiosyncrasies which arise in this relational process. As well as her ongoing field trips, the project is constantly expanding towards exhibitions, collaborations, and semi-improvised performances which combine live, mediated and pre-recorded elements.
Microdeform
Microdeform conjours exploratory, ambient/noise transmissions from prepared cassettes, piano improvisations, keyboard drones, field recordings and other myriad manipulated sound sources. The current live set is based around an akai mpc sampler, 4 track tape machine, mixer and fx pedals.
Tina Hitchens
Flutes and electronics with live improvisation. Layering and re-layering, Tina plays with improvisations recorded over previous months but not listened to since - making a new, unpredictable response to older musical thoughts.
If you, or someone you know, creates ambient/drone/soundscape music and would like to be considered for future events please don't hesitate to contact us.
We will strive to ensure equal representation at our shows and as such would love to be pointed in the direction of any local POC, Trans, LGB, non-binary and female artists who would fit the bill.
