A gig held at Cafe Kino on Wednesday 16th September. The event starts at 19:30.
“The Purton Hulks: Sounds and words from a Ships’ Graveyard” by Isla Miria and The Keeling Curve (Rhiannon Bedford and Will Frampton) depicts the skeletal remains of the abandoned ships at the Purton Hulks, the largest ship graveyard in mainland Britain. Spoken words, live violin and electronics evoke the haunting ambience of the Severn Estuary.
THE KEELING CURVE
The Keeling Curve play ‘churchy minimalism’ (Noel Gardner) using violin and modular synthesizers. Their music explores relationships to environment and place using drones, loops, and field recordings.
	ISLA MIRIA
Isla is a writer from Bristol. She experiments with documentary poetry: how words might pay attention to the memories, histories and voices of a place.
PABLO JIMENEZ-MORENO
Bristol-based guitarist exploring sound, space, and texture through classical fingerstyle guitar and minimalist composition. Drawing on influences from drone, ambient, and experimental music, he creates immersive soundscapes using intricate techniques, subtle dynamics, and layered acoustic textures.
SEB WATERS
Matters of the heart sits at the forefront of Seb Waters’s practice, along with a never ending quest to hold hands with the divine. In his most recent mixtape ‘Colouring Book’ Waters uses heavy sampling to paint a picture of daily mood swings stemming from romantic confusions and desire. He is currently working on a project reflecting on limerence which combines his melodic sensibilities with a curiosity in club sonics and the avant garde.
