Jesse Woodward: Space to Think at Cass Art
See event details

A event on Sunday 25th May. The event starts at 14:30.

Oil painter Jesse Woodward's latest exhibition of landscape work, running from the 19th May - 1st June. Meet the artist over wine and nibbles at this welcome event. This free event is downstairs at Cass Art's Park street store.

From the exhilaration of approaching storm clouds to the sweet melancholy of a dusky blue sunset, moments in nature can have a profound emotional impact. Through painting, Jesse captures these experiences and brings them back into the city to share with others, hoping to inspire a greater appreciation and respect for the land.

'I shoulder my heavy bag and hit the road. Walking the ancient paths that weave through Britain’s wild places, cooking on smoky fires and sleeping under the stars—finally, you get space to think. These paintings share moments from these solitary pilgrimages: a fleeting blaze of light to end a sunset, the mist at dawn, bright puddles in a rutted track. When I have nothing to do but walk from dawn till dusk, I’m ready for these unpredictable gems that always come when you least expect them'.
