A
event
on Saturday 29th April. The event starts at 14:00.
How can we respond locally and globally to the need to secure peace and to end colonialism?
Join us to mark the anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war, on the 30th April 1975, a day which was remarkable in world history because of the vast solidarity struggle that had fought to end the war. In many parts of the Global South, particularly Asia, this day is seen as a victory for global solidarity to end the US-led war.
This year, we commemorate the Peace Lotus Day with renewed commitment to creating internationalist solidarity Glocally* to demand the halt of the war machine everywhere, demand the demilitarisation of conflict zones and unite for nuclear non-proliferation.
We are hosting a gathering of arts, a big shared meal, and intercultural dialogue on peace with contributions from grassroots communities of resistance in the Global South. We welcome contributions of food, music, stories of resistance against war, and anything you would like to bring to the table.
*Glocal means integrating global knowledge and actions with the local i.e. taking a
global issue/concern and making it meaningful and relevant to communities and
society at the local level. It encapsulates the concept "think globally, act locally

About us:
How can we learn to feed ourselves, meet our own needs as a community, repair Mother Earth and reclaim our histories and cultures? The Planet Repairs Action Learning Educational Revolution (PRALER) is about redefining what we learn, why we learn, and how we make sure we learn to be the change that matters. That change is being made by communities everywhere already - it's time that they really led this revolution, and we learn by working alongside them locally and globally (Glocally)
