Sisu Presents: Female DJ Course - BRISTOL (Afternoon)

This course consists of 5 workshops running Monday 3rd December - Friday 7th December, 12.00-3.00pm (we're also running evening courses 6.30 - 9.30pm).

The dates and times are as follows:

Monday 3rd December, 12.00-3.00pm

Tuesday 4th December, 12.00-3.00pm

Wednesday 5th December, 12.00-3.00pm

Thursday 6th December, 12.00-3.00pm

Friday 7th December, 12.00-3.00pm

The SISU course aims to teach the skills needed to DJ from scratch, with an especially hands-on, practical approach, with a max of 5 participants in each class. After running four successful courses at Southbank Centre and New River Studios in London, we are now spreading our wings to teach the course in various other places around the UK!

With each session running for 3 hours, the time allows for both teaching theory based knowledge and hands-on practice in each session. We realise that the theory is important but time to practice is crucial. We teach from the very basic skills including understanding the equipment, setting up the equipment, CDJ vs. vinyl mixing, and organising/analysing your music. From this, the sessions move on to cueing, beat matching, waveforms and EQ'ing, running through filters, looping and finally how to record your own mix - we also cover online platforms and how to utilise these when setting yourself up as an artist!

We provide a course structure and workbook at the beginning of the journey, whilst also tailoring the course to suit your needs.

We also love and encourage peer to peer learning throughout the course - each person attending the course is at a different level and embracing this adds hugely to the breadth of experience. Joining us on the course are a variety of guest teachers from across the musical spectrum. Previous teachers include Jasmin, DJ Lusinda, TASHA and Violent Blondes!

We will be hosting our Bristol course alongside the legendary Dutchie from Hold Tight Records and Re: Vinyl Sessions! She recently finished her degree with a 1st class honours in sound engineering and music production, her music production and label releases so far have been magical, we are excited, to say the least!
