A clubnight held at Central Warehouse on Friday 23rd February. The event starts at 20:00.

With everyday life plating up troublesome news and curveballs left, right and centre for many, we are motivated by serving up events for music heads to look forward to, and to get excited about…

Get excited about this - We are thrilled to announce one of the most significant shows in our history, taking place on Friday 23rd February at Central Warehouse.

Welcoming one of the world’s most revered multi-genre DJs to Alternate, as someone we’ve been looking to book for many years; BEN UFO. Over the years the co-founder of Hessle Audio has devoted himself to the mastery of navigating and bridging tempos and genres to form a unique and well-defined aesthetic that few possess. Early dubstep events provided his early “transformative experiences” and lead him to his current craft. He is now a rock-solid pillar of underground electronic dance music. Unusually, Ben UFO is one of the few acclaimed DJs who’s not also a producer, which allows him to fully focus on selection and mixing – his sets range from light to dark, from garage to grime, from the pearls of the past to the kinks of the future.

Co-headlining are two artists that embody the ethos of Alternate, in two different ways. The legendary JOY ORBISON joins us alongside Alternate favourite vocalist and MC SP:MC.
If you’ve been to see any of the UK’s best DJs play over the last decade, it’s more than likely you’ve danced to a Joy Orbison record at one point or another. Like Ben, his mixing style is a melting pot of various vibes, tempos, eras and textures. Having recently smashed dances together at Warehouse Project and Hvywght in London together, it was time to treat Bristol to this pairing.

Another artist making her Alternate debut (in Bristol, away from the fields of Glastonbury Festival) is Rupture and EQ50 co-founder MANTRA, with original don @blackeyemc. Needless to say, this set will be yet another lesson in the power of jungle music.

Hosting The Silo / Room 2 is a very special Bristol-debut; a (somewhat belated) five year anniversary celebration of the South London garage label GD4YA! Representing the distinctive, dark percussion-driven imprint all night are Bristol and Livity Sound’s HODGE; the legendary UKG pioneer EL-B; the “triple threat” SP:MC playing a rare UKG set; YAW EVANS and label manager TALES FROM THE SOUTHSIDE.
