A event held at Centrespace Gallery on Monday 11th May. The event starts at 12:30.
This workshop invites participants to explore and play with provided materials responding to prompt cards addressing themes such as Holding and Maintenance, Gradual Failure, Withdrawal of Support, Time limits, Repetition and Accumulation and Responsibility and Transfer.
Prompts will encourage reframing structures as effortless with failure as the fault of indivuals and provoke thinking about how invisible labour often sustains structures and how risk is absorbed.
Tasks may include collaborative experiments – for example, maintaining a fragile sculptural form using sugar and water – foregrounding care, endurance and instability as aesthetic and political conditions but this precise activities will be determined by participants.
The workshop will be run by exhibiting artist Em Williams.
Open to all - no prior experience in any artform required.
