Hats Aston
Sculptor and film maker Hats Aston explores and responds to the materials she works with to create original forms. She uses industrial paper to create sculpture, costume and sets. Collaborating with dancers and actors to use these in performances and short films.
Her exhibition will provide interesting spaces to move through, with sculpture that dancers can interact with, touch and wear. Encouraging exploration of how this influences the way that dancers move and connect with each other.
Hazel Crimmins
Dancing begins on the inside. In the heart and the imagination.
Hazel has been teaching in the physical arts for over 15 years and has been in love with social partner dancing since 2010. She draws on an eclectic world of influences blending technical disciplines such as contemporary dance and yoga with the improvisation skills that she picked up at clown school.
The clown tries to be present, reactive to its surroundings, and embraces vulnerabilities.
Class description
Hazel uses her Clowning experience to help you hone the skills of spontaneity, connection and presence with your partner. Give yourself permission to make mistakes, break some rules and find new games on the dancefloor. Delve into the importance of boundaries and consent, allowing us to connect on a deeper level and safely expand our sphere of play.
Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
