Music & Making Social 003 at Centrespace Gallery
cheap as chips

A event held at Centrespace Gallery on Sunday 26th February. The event starts at 14:00.

For this third instalment of our creative sessions, we will be crafting Zines using collaging and drawing materials, a typewriter and sewing machine!

Zines are small-circulations of original and/or appropriated texts and images put together in a magazine like arrangement. Often handmade, Zines can come in a wide array of sizes, textures, colours and designs. We will be exploring different methods of creating our Zines, including concertina folding and stitching.

We will experiment with Zines as a compact format to share our voices, to tell a story. Zine making can 'allow us to create networks, share ideas, and collaborate on writing and artwork.' They are a simple foundation which can be developed upon with image and word to become a potentially loaded and powerful pocket size tool to spark conversation and ideas, sharing both personal and worldly perspectives and narratives.

This will all take place within the hub of our Works In Progress Exhibition, allowing you to draw upon the inspiration and surrounding creative atmosphere to spark avenues of ideas within your own making in the space.

Encompassing the Collaging Zine making, we will have music brought to you by Mystic State & Friends. Including multi genre sonic pleasures deriving from all walks of life, think world music to electronic madness whilst keeping it all within the Sunday feels. Come and get making, listening, collaborating & leave feeling inspired!

Bring a tea vessel! We will supply tea bags.
