See event details

A event held at Centrespace Gallery on Sunday 8th March. The event starts at 15:00.

Craft/Folks presents…

An invitation to slow down together, connect to our hands, and explore crafting collectively.

For our first Craft/Folks workshop, we’re hosting:

Handsewn
A slow stitch session within the Women by Women.3 exhibition at Centrespace.

This 3-hour workshop is an exploration of the relationship between hands, cloth, needle, and thread. From stitching onto the Communal Cloth to learning appliqué and hand-stitch techniques, the session is grounded in collective making, continuing the long history of women creating together.

What to expect:

• Slow, grounded creativity
• A moment of personal reflection
• Leaving with a piece of cloth embedded with a message from a day spent making together

Who is it for?

Anyone with a desire to connect to their creativity through hand sewing, from beginners learning to thread a needle to experienced sewists wanting to explore their craft differently.

When: Sunday, 8th March, 3–6pm

What is Craft/Folks?

Craft/Folks is a new Bristol-based craft collective founded by Ana Clark, where people gather to make, learn, and share through craft, without pressure, performance, or productivity. We offer curated, slow, hands-on workshops that prioritise process, community, and learning through making.

This is our first event, so please make sure to join us for one of our upcoming sessions.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
