A event held at Centrespace Gallery on Wednesday 13th May. The event starts at 12:00.
This workshop invites participants to explore drawing as a shared, physical process using simple, everyday tools in unexpected ways. Rather than focusing on individual mark-making, we’ll experiment with how materials can interact, respond and move together.
Working in pairs or small groups, participants will be introduced to the idea of “drawing machines” — temporary systems where tools, bodies and surfaces collaborate to produce marks. Inspired by principles from contact improvisation, we’ll explore roles such as “over” and “under,” where one element leads, supports, or yields and another responds.
The workshop will be led by exhibiting artists Nia Evans and Em Williams.
Open to all - no prior experience required. People who think they can't draw are very welcome.
