A
gig
on Sunday 16th December. The event starts at 20:00.
Glorious close vocal harmonies from the ultra glamorous Puppini Sisters with dashing support from the Syncopators.
The Puppini Sisters
Kate Mullens, Terrianne Passingham and the Italian, Marcella Puppini were inspired to take their name from the Andrew Sisters who had well over a hundred hit records in the golden age of swing and boogie woogie. Since meeting eight years ago at St Martin's School of Art, the girls have honoured that legacy, frequently singing about modern and often risqu subjects in this quaintly old fashioned style.
They've recorded four albums, made frequent TV appearances on both sides of the Atlantic and last year collaborated with Michael Buble on his latest album. The girls always look as good as they sound and even had Vivienne Westwood designing their frocks for their video for'Jilted'.
The Hot Potato Syncopators
Straight from the golden era of the roaring twenties, these distinguished gentlemen present a musical revue of jazz and dance band melodies interspersed with visual gags, delightful humour and novelty moments. Since 1927* these cat-swinging jazz hounds have been delighting audiences with galloping ukulele, tea chest bass, virtuosic musical saw and charming harmony singing. Absolutely top-hole entertainment!
