Somehow, our tiny queer dancefloor is turning one.

BEND was born on New Year’s Eve, so obviously we’re celebrating our first birthday by doing it all over again.

And really, nobody represents BEND NRG better than the late, great Dolly Parton.

Big hair. Big heart. Camp as hell. Completely herself. A genuine icon whose warmth, humour, glamour and generosity have made her a legend. So we’re borrowing a little Dolly sparkle for our first birthday.

Behind the decks we’ll have a line-up of BEND favourites, bringing everything we love to our bijou dancefloor: pop, disco, house, queer anthems and unexpected bangers.

And naturally...

THE CATEGORY IS: DOLLY SPARKLE

Think sequins, rhinestones, big hair, country glamour, birthday excess, cowboy fabulousness, or simply whatever makes you feel a little more glamorous than usual. Interpret freely. Dolly would.

Most importantly, this is a celebration of you lot.

Every wonderful queer who has danced with us, DJed with us, dressed up for us, told their mates about us, screamed the words to something ridiculous, or simply showed up and helped make BEND feel like BEND.

We genuinely couldn’t have imagined what this little party would become in its first year.

So come and see out 2026 with us, celebrate one whole year of BEND, and start year two exactly as we mean to go on.
