Stickman, by Darragh McLoughlin at Circomedia
£11 / £14 + Booking Fee

A event held at Circomedia on Friday 13th October. The event starts at 19:30.

On stage lies a man, and a stick. In the background, a large flat-screen TV flickers and comes to life. The TV reads ‘MAN/STICK’, as if to clear up any doubt.

The man balances the stick.

The stick moves the man.

Stickman unfurls as a profound exploration of our connection to empathy and personal agency, beckoning us to ponder the intricate dance of existence. A multilayered performance that constantly plays with expectations and reactions. In Stickman we see balance as a means to force the body into a perpetual state of motion - constantly correcting and re-correcting bringing life into whatever posture the body is in.

What we love about Stickman:

Funny and clever and without spoken word, Stickman works with familiar human things: text, images and balance. Darragh’s extreme skills in balance create an intense atmosphere cut through only by humour, where small changes in what we see on stage, have massive impact on what is said. Go if you like playfully poking around in the mechanics of language and humour
