Nature Queerdos: Signs of Spring at Clevedon
See event details

A event on Saturday 4th April. The event starts at 14:00.

Spring is here and we are queer! So let’s get out together and reconnect with our planty-pals on this foliage-filled coastal circuit. Together we will identify and learn about the edible, medicinal, and practical qualities of a wide range of plants, share a herbal tea, gaze out over the ocean (well…estuary…), with an invitation to spend time drawing or photographing any plants you wish to connect with on a deeper level.

Please note: this is a plant appreciation event, we will not be harvesting/foraging.

Start: 2pm in Clevedon near the marine lake (exact location provided on booking)

Finish: 4pm, location as above.

Bring:

A mug

Note book/sketch book and pencils/pens for drawing

Camera if you’d like to take pictures

Access:

Mobility:

This is a wheelchair accessible event. The route is under 1 mile and paved, but with some steep slopes and uneven sections which may be more suitable for a power-assisted wheelchair, or manual chair with a personal assistant. Email us if you'd like photos and videos of the route. There are benches for a rest break approximately half way round. PA tickets are free.

Mental health/illness and neurodivergence:

Come as you are! It’s always OK to take breaks away from the group if needed, wear headphones, stim etc.

Please email < u>[email protected]< /u> if you require more details about the route or event or have any access questions or require additional support to engage.

Travel options:

Join our community whatsapp group to self organise car shares (we can not guarantee this will be available). Details provided on booking.

Take the X6/7/9 bus from Bristol city centre.

Who we are:

Nature Queerdos is a community interest company (not for profit) created by and for LGBTQIA+ people with a passion for enhancing well-being through nature and creativity. Together we will explore our local (ish) green spaces, learn about the edible, medicinal and practical uses of plants growing there, engage in well-being practices, and create something special together with whatever is in abundance that can be sustainably gathered. Our focus is on creating a friendly, inclusive and accessible experience for the queer community.
