Hey there! My name is Ali and I am thrilled to welcome you to my new evening guitar class and social for adults, held every other Thursday at the wonderful Clifton Community bookshop!

I have been inseparable from the guitar for nearly twenty years, beginning to learn the instrument when I was seven years of age and studying for eleven years before starting to teach at my first school when I was eighteen. Since then, I have taught at six different schools, become a tutor with Your Guitar Academy and taught private students between the ages of six to seventy.

Inspired by the joy and sense of community that comes from being a musician, my intention with this class is to create a fun, relaxed learning environment, where you can socialise with fellow guitarists, learn the key skills required as a musician as well as your favourite songs, and provide a guitar ‘agony aunt’ for any of your playing gripes and grudges! Topics covered in previous sessions include the tunes and techniques of Johnny Cash and exploring DADGAD tuning.

All beginner to intermediate players welcome, with a minimum of one year’s playing experience suggested. Simply bring an acoustic guitar and enjoy!
