See event details

A gig on Wednesday 10th December. The event starts at 20:00.

Join us for a cosy evening of music and story-telling with two of Bristol’s finest folky singer-songwriters in the intimate surroundings of Clifton Community Bookshop.

There will be a very limited number of tickets available due to the size of the venue, meaning this will be an exclusive evening of tales and tunes for you and a select few.

The event is BYOB, but teas/hot water will be provided for additional cosy vibes.

First on the line up is Teorstan- Teorstan is led by songwriter, singer, and guitarist Tom Martin. Named after the Old English word for the river that runs through his hometown, Teorstan’s songs combine the storytelling tradition of folk music with a modern feel, pairing a poetic pen with raw, real emotion. His songs blend the narrative folk of Nebraska-era Springsteen and the intricate, intimate stylings of Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens.

Closing the night we have Anya Pailthorpe. Taking notes from folk, pop, and indie, her music tells the tales of adventures in love and connection, with the occasional deep dive into something darker. With lyrics that connect straight to the heart, and melodies that draw on your emotions, Anya weaves a world with her music that even the long-thought ‘dead inside’ can’t help but be immersed by. After studying music back in 2017 Anya went on to travel the world with her guitar, writing songs of her experiences. Now settled back in the UK, she just celebrated the release of her latest album, Songs of a Travelling Heart, and is in the process of writing the next one.
