A
clubnight
held at Cloak
on Friday 19th April. The event starts at 19:00.
You probably know Smiley. He’s that guy often spotted in Stokes Croft, funky hat, beaming smile - and never without his beat machine.
Smiley has been a resident of the UK for 22 years and now the home office is asking him to leave his home and the country. His passport has been detained, and his bank account closed. This event aims to raise the legal fees needed to stop the deportation. We have £2000 left to raise to make sure that Smiley, one of the pillars within the Bristol music scene, CAN STAY and do what he does best - spread smiley vibes!
The night promises an eclectic mix of the best underground music Bristol is known for; Expect booty shaking bops from Slaggamuffin who always brings the global bass to town. Inverno, mixing heavy dub, Madame Dubz, new to the scene and gracing the stage with her neo dub twist. International DJ and producer OH9, as heard on BBC Introducing, will also be hosting a set plus a cypher showcasing the best unsigned Bristol talent, so come along and hop on the mic, we wanna hear what you’ve got! And, of course, Smiley himself will be bringing the funk.
Madame Dubz spins global reggae and dub, blending steppers tunes for a night of infectious rhythms. Get ready to skank till dawn!
Slaggamuffin

OH91
Bristol's music scene luminary, OH91, emerged in 2011, honing his craft alongside local legends like Kahn & Neek and Joker. With releases on Durkle Disco and Coyote Records, his talent quickly garnered attention. His track 'Stealth', remixed by Spooky, showcased his grime prowess, earning him widespread acclaim. OH91's foray into trap with 'Goon Mode' caught Stormzy's ear, solidifying his reputation. Collaborations with MCs like MIK and Lil Nasty underscored his versatility. Touring globally from New York to Japan, OH91's DJ sets and label ventures exhibit his dynamism. Now poised to launch "Different Formula," OH91 continues to shape the future of music.
