LINEUP

- Lewys Holt - they/them
@lewysholt / @perfectly.serviceable

Lewys Holt is an interdisciplinary dance artist based in Leeds. They work as a dancer, choreographer and curates Roadhouse with Eleanor Sikorski.
Born in Mold in North Wales and raised in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Lewys studied dance at De Montfort University (2010-14). Their practice, while focusing on dance, spans comedy and devised theatre. They make work that centres the performer as an empowered individual, showcasing their personality and vulnerabilities. They make score based choreographies, which combine improvisation with subtle wit and formal experimentation that push the boundaries of disciplines to make innovative performances.

They have worked as a dancer with New Art Club, Simone Mousset, Tino Sehgal, Rosemary Lee and Christopher Owen among others.

- Carlo Sebastian Hornilla - they/them
@KaaroKaaro

Carlo Sebastian Hornilla (@KaaroKaaro) is an artist, illustrator, workshop facilitator, creative consultant, chronic overthinker (and occasional oversharer), organised chaos, lover of lists, awkward human being AND a spoken word poet.

They will say a bunch of words and you might listen to them. Maybe you'll laugh, maybe you'll even cry (please don't). Maybe it doesn't matter... Either way, they hope you have a perfectly average and tolerable time.

- Lynsey Smart - she/her
@thejazzbutterfly

Lynsey Smart is a chaos potato and magnet for the ridiculous. She's been working hard on trying to make this relatable for public consumption, after being told that her sketches on hentai and Vets In Practice didn't have commercial mileage. But for one night only, expect the truthful account. Which will probably involve 6 layers of niche reference humour for a mid tier payoff. CHUCKS AWAY BOYS.

- Mars Oliver - they/them
@a_poet_named_marz

It seems every time Mars proclaims, “No, I’ve written enough poems about liquids or objects,” they write another one. To say that they have been through multiple stages of denial regarding their adventures with condiments and sauces is to put it lightly.

Mars is a poet, visual artist and animator based in Bristol. When writing, they try not to take anything at all seriously, exploring ordinary items and not-so-ordinary experiences in ways which bring up themes of queer joy, gender and sexuality. Mars also helps run Sober Queers, a series of safe events for those in our community who don’t drink or take drugs.

- Elinor Solly - she/they
@elin9r

Elinor is an actor and theatremaker who makes slimy stuff about her and her pet snail. Her work explores companionship, femininity and living under the snail gaze.

- Raiden Castles - she/they (he/him in drag)
@raidencastles

TW: Smutty, includes partial nudity, and a realistic dildo/ large strap on penis

Raiden Castles is an anti-capatalism drag creautre, who's satirical satelite personas include The Business Rat and Baggley Baphomet, creative director of prestigious advertising firm Chatham, Cheetham and Runn. He is an evil bastard who wants to defile your soul then sell it to the highest bidder. So don't fall for his charms! Because remember, when the rich steal everything, it's time to start RAIDEN CASTLES!

- Avery - they/them
@saturnzingers

Home, warmth, beep boops, safe spaces, sonic, little faced friends & funny creatures is the best way i can describe my work! I’m Avery and i go by the artist name Saturnzingers! I’m a queer neurodivergent creator who just wants make as much as possible! I hope you enjoy my artwork and the worlds i create!

Avery will be hanging in the space as doors open and during the interval for Live Illustration Commissions - challenge Aves to draw ANYTHING YOU WANT (within reason).

I’m Gonna Queer That! Is a Weird Night for Weird People.

A night dedicated to those who queer all forms of performance and make work that doesn’t fit within the genres of poetry, comedy, theatre, performance art, etc.

Performance that takes all of the genres and mashes them together to create a new gorgeous, disgusting play-dough performance creature.

This is an event where people can bring their experimental, genre-defying work and be greeted by a kind, supportive new audience.

It's about taking risks, not being sure, and experimenting.
It's about celebrating new, exciting work, especially of artists who are often underrepresented or unable to find their feet.

Whatever happens on the night was supposed to happen.
I massively want to encourage new performers to try out new things in that supportive space.

I’m Gonna Queer That! Is a Weird Night for Weird People, but please don’t feel put off (both in terms of attending as an audience member and performing!!!) if you don’t subscribe to the idea of: “weird”.
We’re all about access and inclusion here. and not just performatively. innit.

I embed accessibility and radical care into everything I do, and so with this in mind I am open to anything I can do to make the space more accessible for you.
