A
event
held at Cloak
on Monday 15th July. The event starts at 18:30.
Get your hands inky, explore this creative printmaking technique and create your own beautiful handmade prints.
Monotypes are a form of printmaking that entails creating a unique, one of a kind print. You will learn how to set up your plate, create wonderful prints through drawn images, and experiment with textures. And yes we said "drawn image" but if you think you can't draw* don't panic and don't let the word "drawn" put you off - we guarantee you'll leave this workshop with some gorgeous prints you have created yourself!
[*truly here at Art Rats we believe there is no such thing as someone who can't draw or isn't creative - making things is in all our natures, children do it for the pleasure of it, you've just been taught that to enjoy it you must do it well or do it in a certain way]
All materials provided, but feel free to bring your own printed references if you have something specific in mind!
Please note we'll be using oil based inks - even though they're the "easy to clean" kind (and we'll provide adequate cleaning products) there is a chance they might stain clothes and other surfaces. We can provide gloves, but not aprons, so make sure you wear something old that you don't mind getting dirty!
No experience necessary, all skill levels welcome.
Tickets for the workshop are available as Concessions, Standard, and Supporter - we want our workshops to be accessible and affordable to most, but if you can afford to pay more please do so we can cover our costs and keep this project going!
Our Monday evening workshops are hosted by Cloak! This wonderful community space has drinks & treats available to buy, and an incredibly cosy atmosphere. Sometimes Space Jams will also be running downstairs!
The cafe has no steps and plenty of seating. For any accessibility questions don't hesitate to get in touch.
We have more workshops coming up! To stay up to date follow us here, on Instagram @artratsbristol, for any enquiries dm us or email [email protected]
