Possimiste brings songs into this world from other galactic dimensions she visits. This explains the stellar essence of that catchy pop dedicated to humankind. After the release of the award-winning debut album “Youniverse,” Possimiste has been continuing her adventures and is gracefully returning to Earth with a new empowering single “Monster” this spring, which will be celebrated with us here at Cloak during her UK tour of the same name.
They will be supported by none other than Bethany Ley who met Possimiste in 2022 in Iceland during a trip that preluded her debut Bethany Ley tour in Iceland summer 2023. Bethany Ley (fka STANLÆY) is an independent producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Bristol. Her sonic world circulates intricate arrangements informed by Bethany’s eclectic musical background, creating “sublime twilight electronica” (Music is My Sanctuary.) The sounds blend intricate arrangements of electronic sound design and haunting introspective melodies. Inspiration comes wide from the textures and sounds of Indonesian Gamelan, Debussy, and Alice Coltrane to the popular voices of Cocorosie, Aphex Twin, and FKA twigs. The combination is both virtuoso arrangements and intriguing granular sound design that comes together to create an otherworldly and hypnotic sonic landscape.
Bethany’s music and collaborations have established her as an idiosyncratic voice in the Bristol scene as a songwriter, singer, composer, collaborator and performer. Recent collaborations include with ISHMAEL ENSEMBLE on their BBC6 Album of the Year as vocalist and harpist, with ALABASTER DEPLUME as part of Jazz Stroud, and vocalist with jazz supergroup SNAZZBACK for Giles Peterson’s We Out Here. Her most recent release ‘The_Everything_Inbetween’ has been hailed by BBC Radio 6 (Nabihah Iqbal and Grove). Bethany is the leader of the project STANLÆY and most recently has started to perform solo as Bethany Ley, embracing a new era and life-cycle along with her ever-evolving sonic landscape. The work continues to orbit themes of identity, body memory and a rich curiosity in understanding the landscape of the psyche.
They will also be supported by boci; boci is a Bristol based violinist and songwriter creating alt-folk with her violin, vocals, guitar and loop pedal. Classically trained, boci uses her violin freely and expressively as another voice, taking inspiration from various folk playing styles. Her use of loops and electronic effects allows her to create cinematic, layered arrangements which evolve in real-time. boci's music is deeply connected to her relationship with the natural world and time spent alone in the wilderness, walking in the mountains of Scotland, Wales and the Lake District.

“Since discovering this extremely talented 19-year-old, I haven’t been able to stop listening to her music. It’s so unique and unconventional, yet so terribly hard to explain.” – BOOKS AND BLUEBERRIES
