So it begins...
On the 13th December Melotone will be hosting their single launch at The Cloak & Dagger, with support from Quade and Pem. Join us for a night of music from some of Bristol's finest, as we seek shelter from these cold winter months.

MELOTONE
Melotone are a psych-jazz band from the Black Country, more interested in texture and ambience than ego. They draw inspiration from '60s psychedelia, namely the jazz-infused Tropicalia movement, with lulling guitar play and hypnotic vocals that float freely into Portuguese. Their sophomore single Entre Ondas was released on 25th November 2022 via Think Twice Records, which dives deeper into the sounds of Brazil - a place of inspiration for the band and native country of singer Alec Madeley. Sung entirely in Portuguese, Entre Ondas evokes a spiritual sound, which ripples through the spacious verses and percussive choruses.

QUADE
Quade - four long-time friends - began playing together for the first time during lockdown, shaping disparate musical interests into a cohesive whole. Since then, their rise has been quick. Just nine months after forming, their absorbing live show has turned heads in Bristol and London, earning them slots playing alongside Katy J Pearson, caroline & Deliluh at sold-out shows. 'Spiral', released 6th May, expands their sonic palette and widens their intentions, establishing Quade as one of the most exciting outfits in Bristol's genre-blurring new band scene.

PEM:
Singer-songwriter Pem crafts a dreamlike and intimate almost-folk. With an expansive vocal range and signature husky tone, her masterful vibrato plays with pitch and timbre like an instrument, gliding and dancing over intricate poeticism, unfiltered emotion and ethereal arrangements.

Written during her psychotherapy training, Pem’s 2022’s release ‘Songs About Hands’ offers a space to reflect and permission to indulge on what it means to touch and be touched. Performing in London, Bristol and Berlin, Pem lulls listeners into warm hazes of vulnerable contemplation as she shepherds a sweeping tour of emotions.
