Cuban pianist, composer and bandleader Omar Sosa has united with Senegalese kora master and singer Seckou Keita to create ‘Transparent Water’, a transcendent manifestation of improvisatory freedom and shared artistic passage. Both award-winning musical adventurers, their combined influences demonstrate a rich global heritage that spans jazz, Latin and African influences. They will be joined by percussionist Gustavo Ovalles for what promises to be a thrilling live experience of their highly acclaimed new release.
“Transparent Water is where world music meets world jazz, where tradition meets improvisation and where the lines of spiritual and earthy meet – the result is stunningly evocative.” – TJ Nelson, World Music Central
“Sosa and Keita deliver a work that variously ebbs, flows and sparkles.” – Jane Cornwell, Jazzwise
