Doodling: Self-Counselling Through Art Workshop at Colston Hall Workspace 1
Event Cancelled

A event on Saturday 16th May. The event starts at 10:00.

This event is part of Good Grief Bristol, A Festival of Love and Loss. 11-17 May 2020 (https://goodgriefbristol.com/).

Gary Andrews is a former Disney animator who lost his wife to sepsis in 2017. Join this workshop to hear the father-of-two talk about the funny side of grief and solo parenting, and to explore for yourself the way drawing can help you work through the pain of grief.

All ages and all levels of drawing ability are welcome as you seek to find expression, beauty and humour through creating cartoons or a visual diary. Pens and paper will be provided though feel free to bring your own choice of pens, pencils or drawing materials if preferred.

This workshop will be illustrated with drawings from Gary’s Doodle-a-Day diary, the poignant and moving moments he captures on paper as he moves through his grief for his wife.

Duration 90 mins.

Concessions are available for those under 18; aged 65 or older; students with valid ID; unwaged people; and people with disabilities. Registered carers are free when accompanying a ticket holder (please contact Good Grief to arrange).
