PHONIXAMADHI (pronounced fon-ik sah-mah-dee) is a UK based soul/funk/jazz/blues/electro/pop Band formed by lead vocalists, composers and multi instrumentalists William Cartwright and dbClifford.
William Cartwright (Lead Vocals, Moog Bass, Keys, Fender Bass, Guitar) is at the forefront of the Soul/EDM scene in the UK. He has performed at Glastonbury Festival countless times with various established DJ's and Bands including his solo project. His single On My Mind with dubstep producer Joker has reached over a million hits on youtube and is regularly played on BBC1.
dbClifford (Lead Vocals, Drums, Fender Rhodes, Hammond, Guitar) released his first solo album on SonyBMG. The first single"Don't Wanna" reached the number 1 spot on the Japanese international radio charts as well as the top 40 in Canada, France and Holland. He has performed at North Sea Jazz Fest (Herbie Hancock), Rock En Seine (Amy Winehouse, The Roots), festival de Nimes (James Blunt) as well as the Victoria and Toronto Jazz Festivals.
The band is accompanied live by Arjun Magee, Bristol based drummer who has played with some of the UK's top soul, jazz and reggae artists including Manfredi Funk Initiative, Edenheight, James Morton, Roots Prescription, Dub from Atlantis, Laid Blak. and Dennis Rollins.
Supporting the likes of Marva Whitney, Arrested Development and Maceo Parker to name just a few.
