Dhrupad is the most ancient form of Indian Classical Music. It’s pure, uplifting and rarely heard in Britain. On Saturday July 28th, two internationally acclaimed artists are appearing. Chintan Upadhyay, from Mumbai, is a senior student of Pandit Uday Bhawalkar. He is deeply immersed in Dhrupad and sings from the heart. Surdarshan Chana, senior student of Pt Sukhvinder Singh, plays bass tabla called jori with deep energy.
