Gnawa music is an ancient healing trance music more than 11 centuries old, connecting elements of Arabic, Berber and Sub-Saharan African music with Sufi Mysticism. Traditionally Gnawa is played all night during ceremonies called 'Lilas' to heal the sick. Gnawa combines a large repertoire of songs, dance and healing rituals that have been practiced for centuries.
