Scriabin's Piano Concerto at Cotham Parish Church, BS6 6DR
General admission with student discount available

A gig on Saturday 28th February. The event starts at 19:30.

Avon Concordia is thrilled to present our latest programme, showcasing immense talent in both virtuosity and composition. Shayna D'Silva will make her public debut as a soloist performing Scriabin's much neglected piano concerto, a piece filled with both the rich romanticism of his contemporaries, and Scriabin's signature hypnotic musical textures. The programme will also see the premiere of Richard Jones' Symphony, the cornerstone of an 8 year long PhD into musical polystylism, a work brimming with action, sharp edges and infusions from across the globe. The concert is bookended by music selected to draw us into this eclectic landscape, and safely return us back, with works from the recently rediscovered Coleridge-Taylor and forever beloved Antonín Dvořák. Conductor - Caleb Kernaghan Leader - Navjeet Khakh Soloist - Shayna D'Silva Programme -Samuel Coleridge-Taylor - Ballade in A minor -Alexander Scriabin - Piano Concerto in F sharp minor -Richard Thomas Jones - Symphony in Two Movements WORLD PREMIERE -Antonín Dvořák - Slavonic Dances I, II & VIII Doors open at 7pm.
