Mixing sessions at Crafts&Curious The Galleries Bristol
See event details

A event on Wednesday 27th October. The event starts at 17:30.

Hollie-may and Jakart invite you to come and join our monthly mixing sessions where we aim to teach you the ins and outs of being a DJ. We will hand over all knowledge, wisdom, all the mistakes that we have learnt from and everything in-between.
Whether you are an aspiring DJ, never touched a set of decks or fairly well versed in the art of mixing and need a few pointers, then this monthly meet is for you!
We believe in equal opportunities and feel passionate about it being an inclusive space for EVERYONE.
This is a safe space for people to have a go and learn the craft of mixing and have opportunities to take that further and into a career. Likewise, this is a space to explore yourself creatively in a non-judgmental way! We all have to start somewhere!!

Hollie-may

Hollie-may is not new to the music industry, having been a DJ for 10 years, she is well versed in mixing, blending and navigating the industry.
She is a passionate facilitator and believes that everyone should be given an opportunity to explore their creativity regardless of their background.
Being one of the directors at Crafts&Curious, she thought it would be a good idea to start teaching the art of Djing, offer her Life Coaching skills in order to give people better opportunities in the music industry and create a sense of stability within this career path.
Also, to create a space for people to have FUN and enjoy music. Regardless of whether you want it as a career or you just want to learn how to blend the fun!

Jakart

Jakart has been in the industry for approx 15 years and has a few tricks of the trade up his sleeve! DJ, producer and teacher at DBS, he has a good head on when it comes to the ins and outs of music. He can facilitate the multi-layered aspect of creating music through knowledge and experience. Having had releases with Sofa Sound and a key member of Collective Bristol, he understands the importance of peer support, community and opportunity. He is very passionate about creating a space for people to come and explore their interests, get an understanding of where it is that they want to take their creativity and the importance of support whilst doing that.

This will be a monthly event, please get in contact!
