Unwavering Beauty: an Intergenerational Art Exhibition: at Create Centre
See event details

A event on Monday 4th August. The event starts at 09:00.

Throughout June and July, Bristol Women's Voice, in collaboration with the charity Alive, delivered a series of intergenerational creative workshops inviting participants to explore personal experiences of ageing and beauty standards. Using pre-loved swimsuits as their canvas, each participant created a unique piece that serves as a bold act of resistance and self-expression.

These powerful works challenge the societal pressure to remain youthful, confront the invisibility often experienced by older women, and push back against patriarchal beauty norms. The exhibition offers an opportunity to engage with the final creations, hear directly from some of the contributors, and reflect on the themes explored during the project.

This event is open to all – from workshop participants and their supporters to the wider community. The exhibition is on from Monday 4 August until Friday 9 August with a closing night celebration on Friday 8 August, 6PM - 7:30PM.

This project is a local reimagining of a concept originally conceived and developed by Bristol-based artist Amanda Hall.
