A
gig
held at Crofters Rights
on Friday 3rd February. The event starts at 22:00pm.
Lurching out of the darkness, a silhouette of a bat-handed beast cuts against the moist air.
A slow nod begins from the head-like lump. The beat filters down, haemorrhaging through hairy forearms into ungodly rubber palms - palms pumping on strangely feminine hips.
With every pump the beast grunts along some internal baseline - wildly swinging its paddle-fists on anything within reach.
Overcome by the rhythm, the prize game shambles into a trap - its last taste of freedom in wilderness.
(fade to black)
Boxed, tranquillised and shipped from the undergrowth and forced into new, Bristolian surroundings - only time will tell if the beast's disgusting, exotique will be accepted.
To showcase the beginnings of this ERRATIC BATTING, we have the genre-spanning skills of Bristol’s home-grown Typesun for an intimate performance in the Crofters Rights back room. Joined by Romaine Smith on vocals, Typesun Live will be befitting of such an inauguration.
Bodywork’s Hank Champagne & EB’s Swan Hips in DJ support with soulful, jazzy selections from dub to techno.
