A gig held at Crofters Rights on Saturday 17th February. The event starts at 07:30.

A new year begins, yet the days of darkness remain upon us. We are depraved of the suns warmth. Yet there are some who thrive in such dystopian conditions, worshiping the dark. Worshipping doom and discontent. They go by the name of BIRDFEEDER. On saturday 17th February they perform at the crofters rights in celebration of their second offer of sacrifice to the gods of Psychedelia - Hallows. The cold moon shall beckon us, summoning from the heart of the capital city Troy The Band, conjurers of atmospheric and experimental soundscapes. Joining us also shall be Lamears, local worshippers of the riff.

CONSUME THE CROFTERS.

BIRDFEEDER.

BIRDFEEDER are a five-piece dark psych band that take cues from bands like The Wytches and Black Sabbath, infusing their sound with elements of post-punk and noise, with influences ranging from DITZ to Siouxsie and the Banshees. Intent on delivering an unsettling yet exciting sound, BIRDFEEDER convey themselves with conviction and intent with dark, doom riffs (delivered by guitarist Tom Holman) and unusual noise techniques (courtesy of Jack Wojtowycz) paired with a powerful rhythm section featuring bassist (Ed Thompson) and drummer (Max Dunstone), along with the despairing growl of their vocalist (Lucas Richards).

Troy The Band

Established in 2021, Troy The Band is a London-based four piece that blends heavy, riff-based stoner rock and metal, with the atmospheric, experimental soundscapes of shoegaze and psychedelic rock.

Lamears.

We are Lamears, a three-piece made up of stragglers and dropouts of their respective music scenes around the southwest, who have joined forces with the singular goal of finally getting a free bar tab for the night. After many decades of rambunctious strobe-flooded basement gigs and a punishing catalogue of blinding after-show benders, Kevin Edwards realised that the Scientologist 90s Alien Goth Electronic Indie scene was no longer his calling. He got on the phone to his long-time party buddy and relationship councillor Ben Edwards (no relation), who by night and day would shred his way through two packs of strings a week despite only having 9 working fingers, to try to convince him to help create something a bit rougher around the edges where there were no rules, and where he didn’t necessarily have to play to a click track or even really stay in time. Ben was all for this new and untested approach, and together with their new bud Rob on bass and vocal duties, a long-haired lothario whom they occasionally found daydreaming in the park, high and drunk in the fields, and generally moping about looking like a tortured artist, they formed Lamears. Expect to be bombarded with hefty riffs, shrieking vocals, high-impact hi-hats and whatever else you may or may not expect… These guys are here to ruffle some feathers in the Mid-70s Psychedelic Desert Surf Rock Scorpion Pterodactyl Hardcore scene… don’t you forget it… Influences include the Doors, Allah Las, Fugazi, Rage Against The Machine, Beastie Boys and Kate Bush.
