A
gig
held at Crofters Rights
on Saturday 20th April. The event starts at 20:00.
The mist surrounds us, leaving us blind and out of control. Something traverses the air, leaving eyes red, minds blank, and stomachs rumbling. There is only one antidote to this hysteria, and it lies in the form of further dissociation. Extra Terrestrial Promotions is proud to present an evening of mind bending psychedelic rock, perfect for your post-castle park endeavours.
Insistent upon experimentation and improvisation, Bubblegum Hypnosis’ music traverses the sonical landscape, carrying their listeners on a journey through time and space. Sometimes dirty, sometimes clean; Sometimes reggae, sometimes mean - their music takes influence from a variety of artists, styles and sounds, whilst embodying the anything goes attitude of both prog and psych rock. Special guests on the evening come in the form of City dwellers Longheads, fresh off shows with King Buffalo and conjurers of endless and immersive jams, tinged with doom. Commencing proceedings shall be BIRDFEEDER, infamous for their sorcery of black magic and ungodly riffs.

Longheads
Longheads are a five piece psych rock band who's latest EP 'Mars doesn't feel like home anymore' has been summed up perfectly by The Obelisk, who say it’s, “31 minutes of space-faring lysergic adventures, immersive enough to ensnare tired, older acid freaks and fresh and progressive enough in its delivery to draw next-generation let’s-go-hiking-in-the-cosmos types as well.”
Longheads are building a name for themselves as an impressive live act and recently played their Desertfest debut, as well as supporting the likes of King Buffalo and Slift.
’I was completely blown away by the level of skill in both the tracks they sent in to us and the unique sound they have created’ - Kitty Perrin, BBC Introducing
'The future looks bright for Longheads, whose equal love of King Gizz and Sleep will certainly tick boxes for plenty of Sabbath-worshipping riff merchants.' - Stan Bull, Total Guitar Magazine
'Throw King Gizzard, the Doors and Black Sabbath into a melting pot, add a dash of desert rock and you get UK four-piece Longheads'. - Guitar World Magazine
'Fans of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard: assemble! A UK equivalent has arrived in the form of the skillful Longheads’ - Gigwise
BIRDFEEDER
BIRDFEEDER are a five-piece dark psych band that take cues from bands like The Wytches and Black Sabbath, infusing their sound with elements of post-punk and noise, with influences ranging from DITZ to Siouxsie and the Banshees. Intent on delivering an unsettling yet exciting sound, BIRDFEEDER convey themselves with conviction and intent with dark, doom riffs (delivered by guitarist Tom Holman) and unusual noise techniques (courtesy of Jack Wojtowycz) paired with a powerful rhythm section featuring bassist (Ed Thompson) and drummer (Max Dunstone), along with the despairing growl of their vocalist (Lucas Richards).
