Let Go Everything // Lydia & Sebastien at Crofters Rights
See event details

A gig held at Crofters Rights on Saturday 6th July. The event starts at 19:30.

Hal Kelly is launching her new EP, ‘Let Go Everything’ - a five-track journey which spans post-post-modern environmental angst, extra-terrestrial observations, a doomster call to action, and finally comes to rest in the peace of spiritual liberation. The music floats within the realms of experimental pop and psychedelic electronic music, scattered with field-recordings, breakbeats and meditative ambience.

This launch party will be a unique opportunity to experience the EP live, in full, featuring guest musicians, as well as a special, off-the-cuff improvised set.

Hal Kelly is a queer, Bristol-based multidisciplinary artist. As well as a producer of genre-defying electronic music, she is synth-wizard for Pete the Temp and the Vibe Mechanics, ‘Cynthia, Sorceress of Sound’ in Bristol’s much-loved Carnifolk, and improviser of electronic music with experimental collective Honkus Ponkus. She has performed her show ‘Listen To Your World’ (in which performance art meets live electronic music meets sci-fi meets Buddhism) at Buddhafield and Green Man festival.

Hally is currently raising funds to attend the Dharma Life Course at Adhisthana, so her share of the proceeds will go directly towards her spiritual development for the benefit of all beings.

Support act on the night will be Lydia & Sebastien.
An experimental artistic fusion of alternative jazz and existential spoken word. Lydia Daisy’s stage presence and vulnerability collide with Sebastien Black’s awe-inducing musical improvisation. Seamlessly navigating between thought-provoking poetry and side-splitting comedy, Lydia & Sébastien hold a space in which their passion for art as a therapeutic force and vehicle for change is palpable. One moment you’ll be pondering the structure of society, the next grooving to an irresistible rhythm and laughing at the outrageous. Watching Lydia & Sébastien is not an experience one can easily classify or forget. Leave feeling stimulated, empowered, and hungry for more.

On the build to Lydia Daisy & Sebastien Black’s anniversary of meeting one another, this will also be their first full show in the UK since developing and touring their act in India.
