BROOKLYN VEGAN
Armed with only an old telecaster that's seen better days (played upside down) and her voice, Malco has toured the UK and mainland Europe with the likes of Julien Baker, Jenny Lewis, Fenne Lily, Bob Mould, Dawes, This is the Kit, BC Camplight, The Joy Formidable and more. Malco released her debut album, Failures, via 6131 Records (Julien Baker, Worriers, Macseal, Touché Amoré) on June 5th - a coming of age record that, through soul-baring songwriting and gut-punch guitars, documents Malco’s life growing up and facing adulthood. Malco released first single 'Creatures' in late 2019 to praise from Paste Mag, Brooklyn Vegan, CLASH, BBC6 Music, BBC R1, Radio X and Fresh Finds playlist on Spotify. Consequence of Sound and Stereogum subsequently supported follow up singles ‘Animal’ and ‘Brooklyn’, while NPR chose Malco as one of their 12 highlighted artists of SXSW this year and gave a rave review of the album on their All Songs Considered podcast.
