Standing Show at Crofters Rights, 117 Stokes Croft BS13RW - Ages 18+

Dominie Hooper is a London-based, Dartmoor-born guitarist, cellist, singer & songwriter breathing new life into alternative music through seeds of alt rock and British folk.

Following an incredible track record as a collaborator and session musician working with the likes of Tom Odell, 8X Grammy nominated Yola, BBC Folk Award winner Ríoghnach Connolly, and Alabaster Deplume, 2022 has seen the launch of Dominie Hooper’s ambitious solo venture.

Her debut EP ‘ANNO' was described as “Beautiful, challenging, fruitful...captivating” (Liverpool Sound & Vision), and “confident and impressive” (Fatea magazine), and was triumphantly celebrated with a sell-out debut headline tour in June ’22.

Pursuing this explosive arrival is an extraordinary collaboration with Kate Stables (This Is The Kit), who, as a
career-first, has produced Dominie’s triumphant, queer Christmas single ‘Robin’ - releasing Nov 2022.

Backpacking through survival, identity and self-discovery, Dominie Hooper’s music holds the listener with solidarity, optimism and infinite quantities of heart and grit. Through a voice that is at once arrestingly vulnerable and explosively fierce, this is a powerful landing; a British call and response that echoes contemporary international acts like Big Thief, Julia Jacklin and Aldous Harding, with rootsy British folk at it’s core.

Live, Dominie’s unexpectedly joyful stage presence makes you feel in the company of an old friend, and the connection between the musicians onstage is electrifying. Prepare for a hug and a punch in the gut. This exhilarating new artist will make an undeniable impact on the world of alternative music and beyond.
