Alpaca Presents HMS Morris + Support

By their own reckoning, HMS Morris "appeared in mid-air between London and Cardiff in 2012, hovered for a good while to get their bearings, and finally descended in 2014 to set down roots in the rich, psychedelic soil of Wales”. And those fanciful beginnings tell you much about the widescreen and highly imaginative music this three-piece make - inspired as much by quirky American acts like St Vincent, Tune Yards and Warpaint as they are by Cate Le Bon, Super Furry Animals and older Welsh psych bands like Man.

Their 2 full-length albums to date (2016’s ‘Interior Design’ and 2018’s ‘Inspirational Talks’) both earned nominations for the Welsh Music Prize, and were variously described as ‘Innovative, forward thinking pop music’ (Earthly Pleasures), ‘strange and beautiful music’ (Electronic Sound) and a 'multi-dimensional sound that traipses across hitherto unexplored regions of sound' (Clash)’. They’ve taken their music to Toronto, Montreal, Osaka, Tokyo and Kyoto, and are currently preparing to release their third album.

Who The F**k Is James Barton?

Founded in the heart of Bristol in late 2022, James Barton seeks to explore the common struggles of mental health that young individual’s face in today's day and age. Taking influence and inspiration from the band members' own trials and tribulations.

The duo is comprised of Nat Taylor and Isaac Johnson; who became acquainted at the beginning of their University journey. Drawing inspiration from real life events, the pair write about struggles with their personal mental health as well as experiences that shaped their adolescence. Isaac’s lyrical content is heavily influenced by artists including Eden, Joji and Glass Animals. While Nat fuses production techniques from artists such as Bonobo, Ross from Friends and Overmono with mainstream trends to craft his unique take on electronic music

The unapologetically feisty four-piece LOVER, is a Bristol based band
sporting influences ranging from post-punk, funk and alternative rock
brought together to create their own style of indie. Fuelled by their
vibrant chemistry, LOVER deliver catchy vocals, catchy riffs, and a
plethora of original songs.

Each of LOVER’s tracks pushes the boundaries of what genre the
group falls under, in exciting and unexpected ways. With this group of
young musicians being comprised of the fiery frontwoman Tara
James-Berkeley, the funk-fuelled Tom Greetham on guitar, the
rambunctious Matthew Tunstall on Bass, and the human-powerhouse
that is James Gild on drums. Each member’s unique influences collide
to create a style that is uniquely LOVER.
