The Brackish. Bristol, UK. THE BRACKISH are an audacious assembly of guitarists Luke Cawthra (Phantom Limb) and Neil Smith (This Is The Kit), drummer Matt Jones (Zun Zun Egui) and Port Erin bassist, Jacob Tyghe. With three albums under their belts, the band has gained a reputation for awe-inspiring live shows across the European and UK art rock scenes.
ATLAS DAY
"It was August 2020, we had written lots of material in the previous couple of years and were gagging to get it down whilst it was fresh. So we rented a barn in the middle of Wiltshire, pooled our resources and enlisted the skills and recording gear of our friend and engineer Dom Bailey from Nine Volt Leap Studios. He helped bring out our best performances and took care of the tech side of things so we could immerse ourselves in what we enjoy most. Recording in this way, in an unorthodox space with no time constraints, has enabled us to realise our best record yet."
Codex Serafini:
"With my mind screaming for some oxygen beyond the tormented musculature and unholy id of metal in floats several bright shocks of red-robed extremists of a cryptic but life-giving saturnine psychedelic order of Codex Serafini. Blustering in basslines first, the shivering fuzz of acid-dripping freedom turns all yellow lights to green ’til the shaking voice of the goddess cues the soar of saxophone a mile deep and rising."
