The Evil Usses launch their second album ‘Amateur Pro Wrestling’ on Stolen Body Records with friends Paddy Steer & KURO

The Evil Usses are:
Conrad ‘Moonsault’ Singh (guitar)
Lorenzo ‘Facebuster’ Prati (sax & synth)
Leon “The Lion Man” Boydon (bass)
Dan 'Takedown’ Truen (drums)

Described as “no wave”, “not jazz”, “not rock” and “absolutely not”, they may refuse to be pinned-down to a genre, but an Evil Usses gig is nerve block for your mind pain. Featuring harmonious double-team manoeuvres, mat-based discordant grappling and noise-out aerial interplay, they will surely defeat your legion of doom.
Weighing in with their second album, produced by John Dieterich
(Deerhoof) and engineered by Oscar Rowe, the album launch sends them on their way to a UK tour.
Below the belt and above their weight, The Evil Usses shows are wild & dynamic, coming at you fast, slow, medium. Since forming in 2013, they have shared stages with bands such as Melt Yourself Down, Sons of Kemet, Selvhenter and Kikagaku Moyo.

Paddy Steer is the shining wizard from intergalactic Manchester.
Described as a Mancunian Moondog, with influences including Sun Ra & Mingus, Paddy Steer is declassified acid jazz ‘galactic expedition whimsy’.
With polyrhythmic beats, homemade synths, music boxes & electronic egg cases, he has literally built his own sounds.
A multi instrumentalist, Paddy Steer plays snare & xylophone with a shaker on his hand whilst reaching over to adjust a homemade modulator (with attached telephone) keeping off-beats with his foot on the triggered hi-hat and bass drum. It’s a culmination of sounds from his long history in music, as a drummer, bass player, Hawaiian guitarist, playing with Homelife, Yargo, 808 State.

KURO黒
KURO is Agathe Max, a classically-trained violinist, & Gareth Turner (Anthroprophh /Big Naturals/ Salope).
With the power of 8 electric strings they summon spectral ambience, stately soundscapes, dreamstates and stories of old time cults & lost sailors. They are joined by Helen Papaioannou on baritone sax.
