JAKABOL - EP Launch w/ Hexcut / Qariaq at Crofters Rights

A gig held at Crofters Rights on Thursday 7th November. The event starts at 19:30.

Jakabol have been tinkering away working on their EP for way to long and have finally decided Thursday 7th of November at the Crofters Rights is the perfect time and place to launch it. So get yourself down to the Crofters for an evening of beautiful, loud, synapse expanding music from three gosh darn awesome bands.

JAKABOL
~
Inspired by the energy of bands like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Yes and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Jakabol are a experimental group from Bristol with prog leanings and unorthodox instrumentation; Harps collide with fuzzed out guitars, flutes tangle themselves with five string violins and keyboards butt heads with thrashing drums. Fusing world folk influences with ambient textures and explosive riffs the term eclectic just doesn’t cut it.

HEXCUT
~
Bristol based trio Hexcut, formed of keys, drums and bass, blend elements of jazz, electronic dance music and rock into a unique and accessible sound. Their intricate arrangements move from serene to visceral, with a strong melodic presence from the keys. Hexcut have shared stages with a range of popular artists including LITE, Blank Banshee and Mildlife, as well as slots at major festivals such as Boomtown and ArcTanGent. This has garnered them fans across many genres from math-rock to techno. They have been described as “creat[ing] a soundscape as arresting as it is innovative” (Epigram).

QARIAQ
~
Fresh from a debut performance at ArcTanGent Festival and having just released her first ep, qariaq emulsifies baritone guitar, Kalimba, vocals and a host of guitar pedals giving life to layered songs both melodic and angular. FFO Buke and Gase, Imogen Heap and Emma Ruth Rundle.
