MARLOWE at Crofters Rights
See event details

A gig held at The Croft on Thursday 7th October. The event starts at 19:30.

Marlowe is a collaborative alt-rap project from Seattle-based hip-hop produce L’Orange and North Carolina rapper Solemn Brigham. Their unique blend of quick fire vocals and dusty breakbeats is most well-known on tracks such as “Lost Arts” and “Tales From The East”. The project came together in 2018 with the sole intent of marrying Brigham’s lyrics concerning social commentary, police brutality and poverty with L’Orange’s thudding beats and crackling vinyl samples to achieve a new, refreshing take on hip-hop in modern times.
“Sounds like a drugged-out after school special”

Pitchfork

“The most astonishing album of the year”

BBC6 Music

“All the tracks on Marlowe have catchiness that recalls 1980 new wave or post-punk…His rhymes remain punchy and poetic with a verve that fits perfectly with L’Orange’s newfound groove”
