DJ’ing and early forms of dance music inspired the burst of creative energy that Moscow’s Kedr livanskiy needed for her second album. Suffering from months of melancholy, sadness and reflection, the record came about in a matter of weeks, taking inspiration from old school styles of dance music: ghetto, house, breakbeat and UK garage.

Balancing “streamlined electro-pop with a hint of rave mayhem,” this new direction sees her adding “musculature and crispness where in the past she often cloaked her productions in a lo-fi haze,” (Pitchfork). Both bold and tender, Kedr Livanskiy’s live sets have been known to resurrect even the most broken hearts.

This is a Colston Hall Presents standing show at The Crofters Rights, 117-119 Stokes Croft, Bristol BS1 3RW
