A
gig
held at The Croft
on Tuesday 25th July. The event starts at 19:30.
What was once a place of peace and tranquility
Is now a barren land of rock and rubble
Upon humanity’s return
Mars just doesn’t feel like home anymore.
Join us for ET009 as we explore the mechanisations of our innermost thoughts. We shall fall for eternity through space and time, doomed to return to a place we once called home.
Fresh off a performance at Londons Desertfest, King Gizzard & Black Sabbath inspired Longheads shall guide the ship, with their heavy psych sounds reminiscent of those that continue to echo from the 1960s and 70s. Joining them shall be KEXP spun garage rockers Holy Popes, celebrating the release of their debut album. Commencing proceedings shall be local psychonauts Bubblegum Hypnosis.

Longheads.
Longheads are a five piece psych rock band who's latest EP 'Mars doesn't feel like home anymore' has been summed up perfectly by The Obelisk, who say it’s, “31 minutes of space-faring lysergic adventures, immersive enough to ensnare tired, older acid freaks and fresh and progressive enough in its delivery to draw next-generation let’s-go-hiking-in-the-cosmos types as well.”
Longheads are building a name for themselves as an impressive live act and recently played their Desertfest debut, as well as supporting the likes of King Buffalo and Slift.
’I was completely blown away by the level of skill in both the tracks they sent in to us and the unique sound they have created’ - Kitty Perrin, BBC Introducing
'The future looks bright for Longheads, whose equal love of King Gizz and Sleep will certainly tick boxes for plenty of Sabbath-worshipping riff merchants.' - Stan Bull, Total Guitar Magazine
'Throw King Gizzard, the Doors and Black Sabbath into a melting pot, add a dash of desert rock and you get UK four-piece Longheads'. - Guitar World Magazine
'Fans of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard: assemble! A UK equivalent has arrived in the form of the skillful Longheads’ - Gigwise
Holy Popes.
Garage papal punk from Bristol
“A fusion of Iggy Pop‘s dynamics and The Damned‘s fused fury, Holy Popes are a force to be reckoned with.” – Punk nation
Bubblegum Hypnosis.
Inspired by Frank Zappa and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's anything goes attitude, these weird and wacky psych rockers seamlessly blend antithetical sounds all the way from dub to doom metal. Injected with energy, psychedelia and musicianship, the band's performances and distinct studio releases are a reflection of their ambitious and experimental nature.
