A
gig
held at Crofters Rights
on Wednesday 13th September. The event starts at 19:30pm.
RTB Spoken Word & Milk Poetry’s extended open mic event ‘Spotlight’ champions and encourages local artists, and fittingly this month’s feature act is Bristol-born poet Tom Dewey!
The event puts the Spotlight on Bristol’s outstanding emerging talent pool, providing a relaxed and welcoming environment for newbies, veterans and anybody in between to perform their work in a safe space. As a smaller, cosier event on the second Wednesday of every month, it's a perfect opportunity to perform to a warm and intimate audience at the lovely Crofters Rights in the heart of Stokes Croft.
Tickets are just £3 and are available on the door only – nobody will be turned away, plenty of space, although the room tends to fill very quickly and, whilst we accommodate everyone, be sure to arrive promptly for a seat!
Please arrive promptly to sign up for the open mic also!
Tom Dewey is a former Bristol Open Slam Champion (2015) and has also won the Milk Poetry Champion slam. He has been featured on BBC iplayer and BBC Radio Bristol, and has written a play being performed at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe. A regular open mic’er at our Spotlight shows, we are delighted to invite Tom to perform a full set and feature at September’s show!
