About the artists:
Milkie
Milkie are a four-piece indie pop band from Bristol. Frontwoman, Millie ‘Milkie’ Phipps, recently left her job as a high-flying university principal to lie on the floor and write songs about whether or not it was a good idea. She's still unsure, but the songs are fun at least. Milkie don't necessarily stick to a particular style or genre, but songwriter Millie creates coherency through her unique mix of storytelling, humour and the (more than) occasional pop banger. 100% reliable and trusted source ChatGPT describes Milkie as 'the torchbearers of a movement, in a genre all of their own', so we'll go with that for now. For fans of Pulp, Broadcast and Cate Le Bon. https://linktr.ee/milkiemusic
John MOuse
Cardiff based John MOuse has been active on the UK indie circuit for over twenty years. Noted for acerbic chronicles of everyday micro-drama and for his performative live act. His most recent project, The Fashion Weak, spawned 3 singles with guest appearances from Gruff Rhys and Miki Berenyi on 80's synth driven pop vignettes. Championed by BBC 6 Music expect tales of unwanted pigeons and Anne Summers Parties accompanied by some of the finest Dad Dance moves. https://johnmouse.bandcamp.com/ https://thefashionweak.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx8bzQHiReA
The New Cut
Forming in early 2021, The New Cut are a Bristol / Brighton based alternative-rock 4-piece that deliver a rousing melancholia with a side of wry lyric. Since their pandemically. curtailed inception, The New Cut have tabled a run of acclaimed releases to set out their stall; the louche and infectious 'The Family Business', quirk-pop bop of 'Stephen Gerrard Is My Dad' and bittersweet ache of 'Reclamation' revealing a band echoing the puckishness of Parquet Courts and the sweet solemnity of The Monchrome Set in equal measure. Each release has been heralded with a sell out joyous and communal launch show, a blast of fervent colour in these tintless times, marking The New Cut out as one of the most exciting prospects of the year. https://linktr.ee/TheNewCut
Pindy
Pindy has lots of freckles, grew up in French Provence, and rarely goes anywhere without her Dr
Martens. Her music is an unusual contrast of soft folk songs and hard-hitting spoken word. She
weaves intricate instrumentalism and intimate, breathy vocals, with evocative lyricism and French
sections. Pindy has a hypnotic voice tone you can never get quite enough of. Her soaring melodies
and gentle guitar picking come together to create a musical authenticity which is entirely unique. https://linktr.ee/noisypindy
