From dub poets to punk poets to slam poets, the UK has for decades maintained a thriving culture of spoken word poetry. With the groundbreaking release of Routledge’s book Spoken Word in the UK this year, co-editors Dr Lucy English and Dr Jack McGowan and two of the contributing writers, Pete Bearder and Sundra Lawrence, join Lyra for a live discussion panel. Each speaker will deliver a short talk about their chapter, before joining in a wider discussion about the history and significance of Spoken Word in the UK.
