A
gig
held at Dareshack
on Thursday 16th December. The event starts at 19:00.
Pocket Sun is a band formed of multiple writers across musical disciplines, spearheaded by visual designer and animator Gina Marie Tratt.
Although rooted in synthpop, the layers in Pocket Sun’s music reveal an ability to create microcosmic worlds of emotional potency; everything from melancholia, longing, reflection, and new love is reflected within their work. Hypnotic, pulsing, breath-like grooves keep the swirling whirlpool of electronic textures grounded and powerful, whilst soaring, soft vocals sew the listener into the ephemeral emotional landscapes of the music.
Expect to be wrapped up in a shimmering sheet of blissful beats and hooks that stay in your mind long after the show has finished.
As main support, we welcome Beverly Shrills, who, since lying dormant after the release of their EP Hold On Now in the midst of the initial stages of the pandemic, have quietly and cheekily honed their effortless amalgamation of hard, compressed grooves against introspective lyricism and jangly, undulating melodic textures for an ever-evolving live experience.
Ages 18+.
